Who wants to know the Truth?

So this is a blog. I can write whatever I want and other people read it and then post comments about the meaning of life back to me right? Oh it should be worth reading .... well that's different, now I know I'm in over my head. After all who isn't already an expert on their own opinion. Now if we want to talk about the facts and nothing but the facts that's different of course. It may not be as easy to do in todays society seeing as there seems to be a slide towards subjective truth. Subjective to what? Whether it's true or not? No thank you with truth like that who needs heresy. Despite the popular trends in the P.C. world of today Truth is not relative. Truth is either true or it's a lie.

The funny thing is a lot of people want to know the truth.....and when they are told the truth they say they don't really want to hear it. AAAHHHH therein lies the rub we want to hear the truth only if it's about somebody else. When we uncover the mirror that the truth exposes what is our response? I know what my response is.... can somebody please cover that back up....NOW. After all if the truth is exposed about me there's a chance all the work I've done to look good, be right, feel vindicated and know everything will go right out the window. The sad part is we do this even with the people who know and love us. I think we even do this to our selves. How much soul searching and introspective thought do we actually take part in each day...week how about in a year? (eg) You get in your car for your one hour commute to work (most of which is standing still) do you have the radio on? Do you ever turn the radio off instead of turning to another station. Why are we avoiding silence....because silence lets us think. Now we start thinking what we need to do at work or who needs a ride home after school or what to do about dinner and probably a hundred other things. But how often does it actually get to the place where we intentionally take stock of ourselves !

I'll venture that place is too hard to go on a regular basis if we can be brutally honest.
Now knowing all this imagine the God of the universe knows all your deepest darkest thoughts, deeds and motivations and loves you right there. That is Truth.... not that we'll accept it or believe it or want to hear anymore about it.

Well you've just heard the truth what you do with it is up to you.

Are You Ready To Go Home?

God is in the business of allowing us to see the extraordinary in the ordinary. But are we looking? Being home for the last week plus has given me a gift of time with my Lord and my family that I have been greatly missing. Spending time with those most important leaves me feeling melancholy after, because the life I am currently leading is off balance.

It reminds me of Jesus and the time leading up to the Crucifixion. It wasn't that Jesus wanted to stay or go .." He was about his Father's business". He was at peace but the disciples were not even able to stay awake and pray. Why was that? Surely they loved the Lord, they heard his request to come and I don't think it was a malicious act of rebellion. I think they were out of balance. they were used to the Lord being around, after all it had been three years at this point and they were not seeing or understanding the changes that were about to take place.

I wasn't seeing or understanding the changes that were about to take place ...One day in late 2005 Jesus said come, follow me and this time not only did I hear Him ...I said OK I will . Im glad I'm getting to be home now, but more importantly I'm ready to go Home! Are You?
